Just as I was departing for my nephew’s soiree yesterday, my mail arrived. I was so excited to see an envelope from New York City Vital Records! Inside was a copy of my great-grandfather’s death certificate–a bit ghoulish, I know–but it included some information for my family tree quest. I finally know my great-great grandparents’ names, as they were listed on the death certificate.
My great-grandfather died on February 20, 1936 at Bellevue hospital from a coronary occlusion and myocardial infarction (heart attack). He was buried a few days later at Calvary Cemetery in Queens.
Today I’m skipping up to New Brunswick to do some research on my mother’s family. Rutgers has a wealth of information and I hope to make some nifty discoveries.

So what did you find out??!!
