Mystery of MY Universe #84:
Why does the wait staff at my local Chinese restaurants ration the fried noodles and duck sauce?
I’m paying for my dinner and leaving a generous tip, so I say bring on the fried, greasy noodle things and don’t hold those darlings hostage! If we empty the bowl, keep ’em coming; don’t glare at us for polishing them off. The waiters parcel out one portion per table and then don’t refill the bowls even if we attempt to flag them down by waving the empty bowl above our heads.
Those noodles are the only reason we go out for Chinese once a year. We don’t even LIKE Chinese FOOD but those noodles are something else all togehter. Those suckers are like CRACK. Yum–all puffy and fried up–heaven help me, I’m a slave to fried noodles.
Okay, I’m done now. If you have any insight into the noodle rationing phenomenom please let me know.

I don’t have any input on the rationing idea but your post sure has made me hunger for American styled Chinese Food. Here in Okinawa there aren’t any fried noodles for the Wonton Soup. Agggghhhhh!!!! There is very good Chinese food but the fried noodles are missing from the table entirely.
