On April 19th, I posted about the gas prices here in Jersey. I heard from people near and far on the topic, and just wanted to update you. In mid-April I was paying $3.06 a gallon; today the same station is peddling gas for $3.87 a gallon.
A friend at work drives a Cadillac Escalade and pays well over $100 to fill the tank. My Honda Fit filled up for $34 Friday. So, I’ll ask again out of morbid curiosity: How much are you paying where you live now? What kind of prices can I look forward to for our road trip to Memphis, New Orleans, and Houston?

$4.19 in Orange County, CA… that’s not even in the ‘rich’ areas!!
It costs $52 to fill my tank. Prices are at $3.85 more or less.
West of Scotland prices are at £1.16 per litre, which translates to £5.17 per gallon. It we say the exchange rate is about $2 to the £ then this is over $10 per gallon….and Mr Brown wants to add more tax to this!
I just filled my for $3.89 at Costco here in Los Angeles. Over Memorial Day weekend, we paid $4.25 in San Francisco (though it was near the airport). It typically costs me around $40 to fill my Hyundai Elentra
$3.79 in Knoxville, TN – I don’t even want to think about diesel. My hubby drives a big Dodge diesel – over $150 to fill up! Thank God the company pays for his gas!!
$4.11 just north of San Francisco. I think I spent $50 to fill my Acura recently (14 gallon tank).
3.87 is a steal….we are paying 4.09 here in WI
Guzzle your muzzle overhere.
Over $4 a gallon here in Philly. We have resorted to walking to & from the supermarket w/ a push shopping cart and biking EVERYWHERE.
$4.09 in Michigan. It cost me $50 to fill up my little scooter. It sure is highway robbery!
Pointing out that my earlier comment contains a link.

He filled up at the slightly gougey place for $4.12 last night.
I passed a station $4.10 this morning, which surprising, is down from the $4.13 from Friday.
I have decided that I am going to play in the garden instead of driving places.
I live in Florida and high gas prices seems to be everyone’s ticket to justifying raising prices.
I find myself turning down the air conditioner, following the kids around the house and turning off unused electrical items. I even consider what I buy at the market based on needs not wants any more – a bag of chips mostly full of air has gone up in price by a dollar…..
I even search the web for any freebies based on gas giveaways. Like the site I found on – $500 dollar gas card give away … [ http://omadsense.com/gascard ]
Things are getting tight I’ll try anything…
Columbia, SC station $3.75 a gallon, $ 3.85 is average. So I guess I will quit complaining since it appears I am getting gasoline on the “cheap”.
$4.17 today. Chicago suburbs. One co-worker in the city paid $4.45. Darn taxes!
Actually people in the USA do not have as high of gas as people in Asia and Europe if things are all calculated to the American dollar. Some parts of the world pay up to $6 or even $7 per gallon!
I live in Southern Illinois, so our gas prices is less than chicago, at about $4.00 even.
CWG says: yes, todd, i know this…but i live in america and don’t do a lot of driving over in japan or sweden.
i was just discussing how the gas prices will impact me and my summer road trip. oh, and sorry i took deleted the link you posted–it wasn’t really from CNN–i checked. i would have linked back to your page, but you were too sneaky for me. :b
STINKIN’ BLASPHEMY!
$3.8-some around here. my chinese scooter takes $3.50 or so to fill but already cracked the front tire rim because of pot holes!! have plans to build a better scooter out of an on/off road dirt bike for year round, pot hole jumpin’, gravel road devourin’ use.
sick, same hole in the ground, same pumps and equipment but almost triple the prices.
God hound ‘em and bless ‘em ’til they repent!!!
