Husban-dito and I stumbled home late last evening after a day rife with fun and hilarity. We discovered these yummy little ’slushie’ drinks that apparently turned us into little ‘lushies.’ Ha. Kidding. I was stone cold sober, but Huzz did partake in a Cajun Slushie that left his wallet $8 lighter and left him feeling no pain.
We sweated our way through the French Quarter for a few hours, and let me say here that this place is nothing if not wholesome. There is something for everyone–nekkid women, slicks of vomit on the slate sidewalks, men dressing as women who will dance for you, and much more.
Instead of taking the requisite photos of the street signs (ie. Rue Burbon, etc), I found this sign in the Quarter much more amusing. Maybe you have to have grown up in the 80s listening to the Gloved Wonder (Michael Jackson) to get a full appreciation for this sign. hahahahahahahah. See? I’m still laughing about this. At home, most of the Chinese restaurants have the word “Happy” or “Hunan” in their names. This is much more entertaining, don’t you agree?
What is your favorite Chinese restaurant name?

Wang’s Chinese. (The even deliver to our new house!)
I know I’ve seen something better than “Wok & Roll” in my time, but I just can’t think of anything now.
In the meantime, the most memorable Japanese restaurant name I’ve encountered is “Inafuku.” It’s a common Japanese surname, but to an English-speaking teenager it was so very.
That’s really funny!!! Our restaurants have pretty ordinary names that don’t really compare to the one you took a picture of.
Those slushie drinks kick ass!!! My college roomie and I went to New Orleans one year and decided that we wanted to collect all the plastic slushie cups we could. We got completely drunk (like stumbling drunk) until we realized we could have just asked to purchase the cup without the drinks! It must not have been too bad though, I still remember the day, talking with the nuns and the night!
Glad you guys are having fun!!
I guess we can start making some up. How about Szechuan the Beach or Peking Tom’s?
lol @ pan. it’s the weekend and my stats are waaay down, what can i say?
ha! they can’t touch mine. i don’t think yours can go down that far. nyeh!
wait…
we’re so boring this way… “China Kitchen”, “China King”, “Panda Kitchen”, “Kitchen #1″
I’m sure there’s a “China Panda Kitchen #1″ around.
ditto on the “Wok and Roll”
“Buffet” is my favorite name…
I can’t eat Chinese food anymore so I am resentful having to think of names. But glad to hear you are having fun in New Orleans. Moon Wok is indeed very cute. PS: Your stats have doubled since my last visit. Are you in the popular clique now? And if so, when are you introducing me to Jake?
That sign is great. When I lived in Springfield, MO there was a place I like to eat at called “The Long Wok”. Cracked me up so much I would make cheesy jokes and giggle through the whole dinner. Love your blog, BTW. Found you on the comments from Peter Parkours.
