Okay kiddies…cover your tables with newspapers, grab your carving knives and digital cameras because it’s time for another fabulous give-away brought to you by the generous sponsors of CWG’s blog.
Here’s the deal: Carve up a fabulous pumpkin and snap some photos, then post the pictures on your blog or email a normal-sized jpeg. to me. All the entrants will be put on display here…and I haven’t quite decided how we will pick a winner.
Since I know this contest will involve more work than you may be used to, I’ll try to make it worth your while. The prize is a gift card to Starbucks where you can enjoy a taste of autumn with a Pumpkin Spice Mocha Skinny No-Whip Grande Tall-o Latte Frappachappa Doo Dah…or whatever it is that you drink there.
So, what are you waiting for? Pictures are due by October 30th.

Thanks for the inspiration! It’s so freakin’ on, peeps!
I’ll pass on the doo-dah, but the Pumpkin Spice Latte (skinny please!) oh, it’s on like Donkey Kong.
Hmmm, now, how to catch a pumpkin….
This is going to be a fun contest! As soon as there are some pumpkins for sale here – I’m in!
I am so going to participate!
Can you believe I adore Halloween and I suck at carving pumpkins? I’m the world’s worst! I can’t wait to see the entries.
Happy (BELATED) Bday again to Carrie!!! Hope it was GREAT!
Curly babe, this sounds like an awesome contest. But as I suck supreme at carving, And I hate coffee, I hereby excuse myself from entering and instead appoint myself GRAND MASTER OF CEREMONIES. If it’s a tie I get to choose the winner. Please feel free to send all bribes to my PO Box.
Didn’t expect that one, huh?
CWG says: i will pass the scepter to you and allow you to make the WINNING decision.
OOOooooOOOOooOOoOooOoohHHHHhhHHHH!!!!!
YIPPEEEEEEEE!!!!
HEAR THAT EVERYONE???!!
Let the sucking up BEGIN!

Thanks for the cool contest – getting pumpkin guts all over the kitchen was great fun
I’m in, too! No seeds were roasted, but a great time was had by all. (I hope there isn’t a tie, because then I’ll have to do another “celebrity” pumpkin of dailydish!)
Now that I’ve checked out the entries by rambleicious and binary trash, I’m a lot less confident about winning. Those pumpkins are both fantastic!
You can see my video entry here:

Thanks Natalie!
@wendy — your pumpkin and your photographs are beautiful! I love the fairy pumpkin! Awwww!
@Ann – you carvings put my CurlyWurlyGurly pumpkin to shame. What tool did you use to get the edges so clean on those bad boys? They’re awesome!
I know I’m usually the cynical one, and of course I’d like to win the contest (I like me some coffee! woo!), but I have to honestly say that all the entries I’ve seen so far are incredible. Dishy, I can’t wait to see your pix, too!
yes…well….if i ever gather my energy and compose the post and upload the pictures, THAN we will commence with the contest.
is it really pathetic that i JUST bought my pumpkins today? (they went on sale!) i have yet to carve it. just call me kill-joy.
Oh, so this year, I learned a valuable lesson.
(’kins were carved and photo’d last Friday, sans upload)
Carved ‘kins should be put outside where the cold will preserve them from turning into mushy ‘kin mess in your front room.
Just saying.
Thanks jimsmuse, I actually just used the regular little jagged carving piece that comes in a pumpkin kit. I got a pumpkin kit a few years ago at Food Lion and so I’ve just been using that every year. But I am somewhat of a perfectionist so I spent a lot of time trying to get it just right. It probably took me 5 or 6 hours to carve my pumpkin.
