SEPTEMBER 2008
Life with My Sister Madonna by Christopher Ciccone (Hmm…I’m on page 191…and am not a Madonna fan. Let me say here that WHEN I become famous and my sister writes a tell-all about me…she better put in all the good stuff.
Bringing Home the Birkin by Michael Tonello (Nonfiction–about one man and his ability to score the ‘unobtainable’ Hermes Burkin handbag which he resells on Ebay. $30,000 handbags? Sign me up.
Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer (One more to go…)
New Moon by Stephenie Meyer (Well, I have to finish the series…)
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (My students LOVE this series and I want to know what the fuss is about)
Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult (I kinda gave up on this author–she’s too formulaic for me–but someone lent me the audio book)
All We Ever Wanted Was Everything (I audio booked this…it was good, but I think I liked the cover art best of all.)
SUMMER VACATION (JUNE-AUGUST) I’m reading but the books are just too trashy to list.
MAY 2008
Identical Strangers by Paula Bernstein and Elyse Schein (the story of identical twins who were separated at birth and discovered their twin later in life)
Scratch Beginnings by Adam Shepard (a recent college grad works to disprove the idea that you can never get off the streets. He takes a train to Charleston, SC with $25 in his pocket at his goal for the project to be a success is at the end of 1 year, he has to have an apartment, car, and $2,500 saved in the bank.)
Lovers and Players by Jackie Collins (getting a jump on trashy summer novels, what can I say?)
Her Last Death(a memoir) by Susanna Sonnenberg (at times, utterly unbelievable…but compelling.)
T is for Trespass by Sue Grafton (better than the last couple–told from 2 points of view)
A Wolf at the Table by Augsten Burroughs (memoir) (Um…really dark with little humor–nothing like what I expected.)
APRIL 2008
10 Days in the Hills by Jane Smiley (audio book) I’m in the middle of this one and it’s weird…
Nancy Drew: The Hidden Stairway by Carolyn Keene (a trip down memory lane)
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (audio book) a favorite
MARCH 2008
assorted travel guides to help me on my way to my summer road trip…
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini (audio book)
Jinx by Meg Cabot (trying to find something suitable for my students to read in their spare time…)
The Road by Cormac McCarthy (I listened to this as an audio book and it was haunting and left me feeling out-of-sorts.)
The Almost Moon by Alice Seabold (Almost made me want to kill myself…)
McNally’s Gamble by Vincent Lardo (okay, I’m done re-reading this series…)
McNally’s Risk by Vincent Lardo (another re-read…but fun)
Frommer’s Philadelphia (travel book–read it cover to cover!)
FEBRUARY 2008 (a bit slow on the books this month due to jury duty)
Are you there God? It’s me, Margaret by Judy Blume (a continuation of childhood re-reads)
The Girl With the Silver Eyes by Willow Davis Roberts (a childhood fav that I ordered through a used book store)
Another McNally Caper by Lawrence Sanders (a reread)
JANUARY 2008
Clapton by Eric Clapton (autobiography by the musician–now all I need to do is read a George Harrison book and it will complete the love triangle.)
Wonderful Tonight by Pattie Boyd (autobiography–wife of George Harrison and Eric Clapton)
McNally’s Luck by Lawrence Sanders (reread–a favorite series)
A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson (reread for the millionth time…)
Lucky Man by Michael J. Fox
Celebrity Detox by Rosie O’Donnell
A Round-Heeled Woman by Jane Jurska
Queen of Babble by Meg Cabot
McNally’s Gamble by Lawrence Sanders (reread–one of my favorite series)
Plum Lucky (A between the Numbers Novel) by Janet Evanovich
Blood Sucking Fiends by Christopher Moore
Fluke by Christopher Moore

I keep track of my books too, though this year will be a fraction of last year with having two kids!
How was Celeb. Detox? I’ve wondered what it was that Rosie wrote to set Barbra Walters off the way it did.
CWG says: I found it annoying…and could see how it would cause some tension between the two of them.
Wow. I just looked at your reading list. I didn’t think there was another Lawrence Sanders fan still alive (Vincent Lardo’s trying, but it just ain’t the same!) who would actually admit to being same! :0
Have you read Sanders’ other books? Or just the Archy McNally series?
CWG says: i’m very much alive, thanks.
i fell for archy about 10 years ago and keep wishing for a new (sub par) book in the series to be published. i’ve never tried the deadly sins or any of his others…i got into a mcnally rut and can’t get out!!
I need to start logging the books I read. I think I’m just too lazy.
CWG says: as you can see, i’ve falled a bit behind. i read a book every few days…but haven’t updated this list. i suck. i know.
That’s quite a list of books you’ve been reading. May I shamefully promote my own, An Island Away? Takes place on the island of Aruba and based on your reading list, I think you would enjoy it. Thanks! (PS: My blog is http://www.bentpage.wordpress.com.)
Check out my blog for some great summer reads!

Hey!
Cool blog.
I like your style of writing and the way you use the materials that are easily available to make something that you desire so much. Particularly the jewellery case is fantastic!
Cheers!
Vatsala
Love your book page!!!!!
I loved the Twilight Series. I’m not sure how I’ll feel about the movies though…
Ahem…
Nove? Deece?
Thank you.

February’s almost over… tick, tock, tick tock.
